Fish Report
For Immediate Catch and Release
June 30, 2008

Hello from your Lake Jennings! It was way too hot and the fishing was not. Dynamite might have worked if it didn’t explode before you could get the fuse lit. It did not matter what you fished for if you had a 2 fish day you did better than 99.9% of your fellow anglers. Some topwater bass action happened along the shore and bass are chasing shad in the bubbles but those are pretty much out of reach unless you have a long rod. Cats were scattered and no one spot produced more than a couple of fish.

Best Trout Spots:
None

Best Trout Lures/Bait:
None

Best Catfish Spots:
The bird trees, Shadow and Eagle Coves and anywhere there is brush in the water.

Best Catfish Lures/Bait:
Nightcrawlers are really working well or mackerel. Use scent liberally.

Best Bass Spots: Dawn and dusk tight on the bank. Daylight finds them in 20 to 30 ft. off the points chasing shad.

Best Bass Lures/Bait:
16” Texas worms, frogs, Pop R’s.

Notables: No limits under 30 minutes or fish over 3 lbs. reported.

Water Temperature: 76-79 degrees.

Prognosis:
Fish Producers will bring 1,000 lbs of cats on Thursday. The best strategy is to hunt for the fish and not lock yourself into one spot. The big jump in water temp should get that topwater bass bite going.

Current Schedule:
We will be open Friday from 5:00 p.m. – 11:45 p.m., Saturday from 5:30 a.m. – 11:45 p.m. and Sunday from 5:30 a.m. – 8:30 p.m.

Holiday Schedule: We will be open Friday, July 4th from 5:30 p.m. – Midnight.

Discounted Sunday Boat Rental: We have created a twilight special for our motorboats. After 4:00PM on Sundays, motorboats can be rented for $20.00. That gives you over 4 hours of primetime fishing.

FREE Fishing Classes: Lake Jennings Fishing University will hold a fishing class this Sunday at 1:00 p.m. The classes concentrate on what is working best. This week’s class will talk about fishing cats. Most importantly, the classes are FREE! Ranger Hugh will be the professor.
