Now you can have your youth or adult retreat, corporate meeting, wedding, birthday, company BBQ, or other special event at beautiful Lake Jennings! Rentals are available weekdays or weekends.

Only minutes from downtown San Diego, Lake Jennings provides a restful, rustic setting for any event from family reunion to video shoot.

Organize your own special fishing derby for your company or non-profit, plan a water's-edge wedding at any of the special areas around the Lake or even on the Lake. Bring your youth group to enjoy the great outdoors-fishing, bird watching, hiking, and picnicking.

Day trips or overnight camping accommodations are available.

All of Lake Jennings
Engage the entire Lake for a large corporate meeting, retreat, or special event. Motor and paddle boat rentals are available. The area accommodates 600 guests. Both the launching dock and the floating ADA dock are easily accessible for events, fishing, or just enjoying the scenery. Portable and indoor restrooms are available throughout the Lake area.

Selected cozy areas
Hermit Cove has a large parking area and accommodates 300 guests. This shady glen located at the eastern rim of the lake is just steps from the water's edge, making it perfect for a wedding, party, corporate BBQ, dance, or large family picnic. The area has grills and tables as well as portable restrooms.

Sentry Point is located below the campground. There are expansive lake and mountain views on all sides of the large plateau at the end of this point--an ideal backdrop for weddings, corporate parties, and photo ops. The flat terrain is suitable for generous party tents or pop-up pavilions. With plenty of parking, this open space accommodates 200 guests. Convenient portable restroom facilities and Wi-Fi are available.



Two rustic structures for smaller events and groups
The Gazebo is located in the campground adjacent to the group camping area. This charming semi-enclosed structure is sheltered on the windward side and accommodates 30 guests. Views of the lake and surrounding peaks make this a charming location for small weddings, family gatherings, small corporate retreats, or company planning sessions. The Gazebo has electricity, water, and is a short walk to indoor restrooms. Wi-Fi is included.

The Pavilion is located in the campground area. This structure is a large, hexagonal facility with a bright, sky-lit interior that accommodates 68 guests. Electricity and Wi-Fi are included. Indoor restrooms are just steps away. Tables with benches can be made available. This year-round setting is a lovely venue for corporate meetings, day retreats, weddings, receptions, or birthdays. It is just a short walk to the children's playground as well.

Plan that memorable special day in one of Lake Jennings' numerous lakeside sites--Sentry Point, Hermit Cove--or one of the rustic structures in the campground. For a large wedding we encourage you to engage the entire lake for a ceremony on the lake, on the dock, or at one of the water's-edge locations. Follow it with a reception in one of the large open areas or in the shaded glen of Hermit Cove.

Professional Photography, Filming, Videos
Photographing, filming, and videotaping for personal use is always encouraged at Lake Jennings. However, photography, filming and videotaping for purposes of professional use is subject to the rental agreement for the area(s) of the lake being used.

Lake Jennings is a highly desirable film backdrop. With scenic beauty and close proximity to San Diego, the lake makes this an ideal location for still photography, motion picture, and video production. The 350-acre park is located just off the intersection of Highway I-8 and Lake Jennings Park Road at 9535 Harritt Road, Lakeside 92040. The grounds are closed to the general public four days per week, thus providing a secure setting and eliminating crowd control issues that might be encountered in other venues.

Recognizing that schedules may require same-day turnaround for permits, approvals can generally be acquired within a few hours. To expedite requests, please download and fax the facilities use permit along with the certificate of insurance naming Helix Water District as the "additional insured" to: Helix Water District at (619) 390-1300 / 980-4844. Payment of use fees are to be made prior to the first day of your shoot.

Fees vary according to location. The venue fee scedule allows the film/video/photography company to bring the following equipment/staffing: one motor home, two cars, and up to ten people. The location fee applies for any portion of the Lake's normal day from 6 a.m. until sunset. Additional hourly fees may be assessed to cover staffing requirements for shoots taking place outside normal hours.

Larger or more intensive shoots with special needs will incur additional charges. The use of large or unusual equipment must be approved by Helix Water District and may also be subject to additional costs that will be negotiated with the District.

Lake staff will assist production by facilitating and accommodating wherever and whenever possible. However, some areas of the park may be unavailable due to endangered species, health department regulations, sensitive habitat, or environmental concerns. In most cases, viable alternatives can be made available.

Because Lake Jennings is a drinking water reservoir and subject to public health laws and regulations, body contact with the water is prohibited. Filming is subject to all Lake regulations.

For purposes of insurance coverage, Helix Water District must be listed as a named "additional insured" on a policy that includes the entire time period of the rental agreement. Minimum policy limits are $2,000,000 in aggregate; $1,000,000 each occurrence.
