THEME: Sunrise to Sunset

Capture the beauty of the lake from the first light of dawn to the final glow of dusk. Our “Sunrise to Sunset” Photo Contest invites photographers of all skill levels to showcase the changing moods, colors, and moments that unfold throughout the day at the lake.

From misty morning reflections and wildlife waking with the sun, to vibrant midday activity and the golden hues of evening, every hour offers a new perspective. Whether you’re using a professional camera or your phone, we encourage you to share the scene as you see it.

Who can enter?
Open to photographers of all ages and experience levels. Prizes awarded in youth (17 and under) and adult categories.

GUIDELINES:

  • Submission Deadline: May 1, 2026
  • How to Enter: Complete the Photo Submission Form and upload up to 3 photos.
  • Judging Criteria: A panel of Helix Water District employees will judge photos based on creativity, originality, and how well the photo aligns with the “Sunrise to Sunset” theme.

RULES:

  • Photos must be taken from April 1, 2026 to April 30, 2026
  • High resolution photos (at least 300 PPI)
  • Must be in JPG format
  • No watermarks please
  • Photos and usage rights become the property of Lake Jennings. Helix Water District employees not eligible to win.

PRIZES:
Selected photos will be featured on our website and social media, and top entries will receive special recognition and prizes.
Annual day use entrance pass for 1st and 2nd place winners in youth and adult categories. Honorable mentions as needed.
ADULT PRIZES:
* 1st place: $100 to Georges Camera
* 2nd place: Portable Power Bank
YOUTH PRIZES:
* Pair of binoculars
* Book of Nature Photography
